20240414 3D Stackable Building Ready to Role

3D Stackable Building Ready to Role

We are getting close to video production time. We have been 3D printing all the pieces to make Stackable and Expandable Buildings. We shall be using these to create a warehouse district while making a Candela Obscura video. Challenges: it is taking a good amount of resin to print everything. Also, each print takes a good amount of time to print. We were hoping to have 20-30 building to create the miniature warehouse movie set; but, we have now decided to do “Movie Magic” in order to start filming. We shall making a video about making the video! And, we will keep printing in the mean time. 🙂

As an additional secret, Explorers Emporium will be making silicon molds of its Sidewalk 3D prints, as well as, some of the Flooring pieces. 3D Print time is pretty long on these. Plus, the Sidewalk 3D prints are thicker. Thus, they are heavy on resin use. So, product expenses will go down by casting, too. Plus, Plus, by doing a casting methods on these pieces, we will be able to make several in an hour or even in a minute. This will free up time to use the 3D printers for the other pieces. This is FUN!

The Shopkeeper Does a Magic Card Trick

Shopkeeper Does a Magic Card Trick

ADVENTURERS!!! Explorers Emporium is having some FUN. We had several comments about a scene in our Candela Obscura Choosing Character Roles video. We were showing off the different roles you can play in Darrington Press’s Candela Obscura. One of the character role’s “Specialties” found under “FACE” is “MAGICIAN”. The scene has The Shopkeeper doing a disappearing leg trick… Yah, I said that. (Video link is below). So, in response to that, The Shopkeeper does a magic card trick he learned about 50+ years ago. It is pretty awesome. We hope you enjoy it. The Shopkeeper Does a Magic Card Trick is available on Patreon and YouTube.

Contribute to Explorers Emporium

Greetings Adventurers!!!  Everyday new people discover Explorers Emporium.  Many of you already know who we are.  We are not a 501c3.  Not a charity.  But, as we all know, being a small business in todays markets is tough, even brutal.  My wife and I started out fund raising and building a children’s museum in 1991- Castle Earth Children’s Museum.  It was beautiful, fantastic, and worth every bit of effort that we could give.  The local communities and schools sincerely enjoyed and embraced it.  Adapting to this world has slowly evolved this wonderful educational concept into what is now known as Explorers Emporium.  But, we still continue to run Explorers Emporium in a fashion that is not putting profit and sales before the community.  We are and will always be here for the people- hopefully.  That does come with a sacrifice.  Anyone wishing to contribute a dollar or more to keep us moving forward would be very appreciated.

There is an awkwardness to such requests. There are so many more people that are far more in desperate need than us. In the end, Explorers Emporium is just a fantastic store that does really awesome educational programs and events. It does not compare to contributing to fix- climate change, world hunger, war, and others. Please give to these causes. I personally enjoy giving to the Arbor Day Foundation. But, if you have enjoyed one of our programs, events, or videos- a dollar does help.

Where to give on this site: Contribute to Explorers Emporium

We also have a Patreon site: Explorers Emporium Patreon

In the end, we are truly seeking a way to pay off the charming building we are in.  It really is a wonderful building.  We have come such a long way.  We owe at this time about $190,000.  It is a lot for most of us.  It is nothing to some others.  The thought of not having rent or mortgage would unleash our efforts.  We could and would do so much more than what we do today- school programs, science workshops, crafting workshops, events, community programs, etc…  For those that know us, know the amazing things we can bring to a community.  We would love the opportunity to do them.

Also, at this time, we are seeking solutions- renting part of the building, selling and downsizing.  We do have this building for sale or rent.  We would like to stay where we are.  But, decisions like these must be practical.  We are so close, yet so far away.  Your help means everything.  Please contribute if possible.  We totally understand if you cannot.  We do appreciate that you did take the moment to read this.  Travel well…

The Shopkeeper Adventures- Candela Obscura 002

Candela Obscura 002Developing Character Roles

The Shopkeeper and Captain Skeleton- Candela Obscura 002 (Developing a Character Role- Pre-Dialogue) (Video at bottom of page)

“What was that!”  The shopkeeper says aloud to Captain Skeleton.  “We were just talking about playing Candela Obscura, then suddenly this bellowing voice echoes in and offers to show us how to play?  STRANGE!”

“That was a surprise,” says Captain while stroking the side of his skull with his sharpened pirate hook.

“Do you think it is coming back?”  The Shopkeeper glanced around thinking at any moment that the massive voice will reappear.

“Can’t say.”  The Captain joined the Shopkeeper looking around.

“I did find the tutorial very helpful.” Captain stated this as a matter of fact.  “I am intrigued.”

The Shopkeeper paused and considered the Captains words.  Learning how to play a new game can be intimidating.  The voice made it seem so simple.  “I agree.  I think breaking a big project down into smaller parts helps.  Then, you just take a project one part at a time until the project is finished.”

“Right you are Shop.”  The Captain patted the Shopkeeper on the back with one of the flattened sides of his sword.  “So…  You chose the Character Role Slink Criminal.  Fitting.  Have you thought how you would like to develop your character?”

“Not sure how to do that part, yet.  What about you being Weird Occultist?  I almost chose that one.  Glad you did, though.”  The Shopkeeper smiled.  “I think I will really enjoy playing this RPG.”

Both the Captain and the Shopkeeper sat down and looked at their Character Role sheets.  The Shopkeeper leaned over to the Captain and showed him his sheet, “What do you suppose these diamonds and boxes are?”

Just then a powerful voice filled the room, “You are about to find out!!!”
